And so this has become the month in which we depart Asheville for the mountains of West Virginia...

It has been our plan for years to move to West Virginia, where I am from, and now it is finally becoming a reality. We worked for months to prepare our house to sell, and when we finally put in on the market, it sold much quicker than we could have guessed.

So now we depart and embark on a new family adventure. It is exciting to be heading to a new place, to be looking forward to creating a new life for our family, but it is also a little bit sad to be leaving Asheville, the place we have called home for so many years, the only place that has ever been your home.

As it stands now, we have 3 weeks left here in Asheville. Our house deal is set to close on March 29th, and then we will be gone. Your mother has given her 2 weeks notice at work, which will leave us a week together at the end to pack our things and to say our goodbyes. We have decided to have a party, inviting just about everyone we know. It seems the best way to say goodbye to so many wonderful people.

We will be back to visit often. You have aunts and uncles and cousins and friends here to see. But it won't be the same.

YOUR NEW ROCKING CHAIR

rockingchair

Mommy found this rocking chair for you at this huge children's consignent event here in town, and even though it's a little on the big side, you seem to like it very much. When you first got it, you somehow decided that you always had to have your juice with you when you would sit in it, so we couldn't put you in the chair without a cup of juice. You've since learned that it isn't mandatory to have juice in order to enjoy the chair.

A WALKING TOUR OF WEST ASHEVILLE

Walking around West Asheville is something that we do all the time. It is an easy walk from our house to get to the grocery store, the video store, several good restaurants, a few bars, and even a couple parks. You have been on more walks in West Asheville than I can count, and I hate to think that you won't remeber any of them. So here is a video of us walking around to many of the places we go all the time.

WE BID ASHEVILLE FAREWELL

This is a card we will give to our friends, in hopes that many will come visit us in West Virginia.

MOVING...THE DAY FINALLY ARRIVES

moving

And so the day has finally arrived....It has been a crazy, weird process of packing up all our stuff and loading it into a big giant truck. Luckily we had help loading the truck (thank you Aniela, Clyde, and Dave!). It's a little sad to be leaving Asheville, to be leaving our house, but it's also exciting to be moving into a new house, in a new town.
