10/1/09 Hiking With Daddy

Today was a beautiful Fall day, the first day of October. You and I set off on a hike in the woods on our own and had a great time. Of course, we pretty much always have a great time no matter what we're doing.

The days are starting to get shorter and colder quickly now, and we no longer take our early morning walks together, but we still manage to get plenty of walking time in. I hope that as Winter continues to approach, we are able to find ways to get out and see the world, even if we have to bundle up to do so.

haircut10/2/09 The First Haircut...And Lollipop...EVER!

Even though Mommy had trimmed your bangs once before, this day was the first REAL haircut you ever got. Our friend Dana, who has often helped us out with the hair removal process, did an amazing job of making you even cuter than you already were. I suppose it helped that your first haircut just happened to coincide with your first lollipop.

10/4/09 Cousin Elinor and Brand New Cousin August

Today we visited your cousins August and Elinor up at Uncle Dave and Aunt Stacey's house. This is only the second time you had ever met your new cousin. Welcome to the world August Taylor Vincent, born August 24th, almost a month and a half old already.

withgrandparents10/8/09 To 10/11/09 Visiting West Virginia

Mommy was able to take two days off of work so that we could all have an extended vacation visiting Grandma withdaddyand Grandpa Vincent up in West Virginia. It was awesome! We hung out at the Vincent Estate, went to Lewisburg a couple times, once for the Taste Of Our Town Festival and once to look at possible houses to buy, and just relaxed and hung out as a family. It's exciting to think that we will be living there in less than a year!

withbabcimeemaw10/14/2009 To 10/20/2009 A Visit From Babci (Mee-Maw)

So you got to spend this week with your other grandma, or as she prefers to be called, Babci Mee-Maw. Christina spent almost a week with us in Asheville as part of her month long vacation trip. You had a lot of fun with her, going for walks, eating the delicious food she made for us all, and hanging out around the house with one more person to love you. It was sad to say goodbye when she left.withgrandma

Today we went on an adventure to a Corn Maze. None of us had ever been to such a thing before and weren't quite sure what to expect. This one was created as a fundraiser for a local worthy cause, so at least we felt good about shelling out the $8.00 a person.

It was certainly an interesting experience! We managed to make it out of the maze alive and played around in the pumpkin patch for awhile.

It felt very much like a kid friendly fall activity. I imagine we'll be doing many of these in the years to come. I look forward to that!

10/31/2009 Halloween

This year we dressed you as the one and only Axl Rose! You pretty much rocked the house this Halloween. We took you trick or treating for the first time ever, which was alot of fun. halloweenAt first you weren't quite sure what to think of the random people in funny outfits putting stuff in your little treat bag...but once you figured out it was CANDY, you were all about trick or treating.

We took you over to Vermont Avenue in West Asheville, which we had heard was the happening place to be. And it was...even in the rain. We're wondering if you will be old enough next year to pick out your own costume or if we'll get one more year to decide what we'll dress you as. Either way, Halloween is much more fun with you around.
