Our First Apartment

What originally started out as April's apartment soon became our apartment. It was a one bedroom place on Beaucatcher Mountain overlooking the city. The entire livingroom wall consisted of sliding glass doors. We had a great view! There was even a little deck that we could stand on and look down upon Asheville. P.K. had his own cat ladder down to the ground from the deck, which he used often.

It was a really great place to live for most of the 3 years that we lived there. We had good neighbors (until the end), the rent was affordable, and we could walk to downtown in a matter of fifteen minutes or so. This was a trip we made often, walking to restaurants, the food co-op, and even the occassional concert.

In the end, it was the drug dealer who moved in next door who finally motivated us to leave and buy a place of our own. He was not a good neighbor, to say the least. I suppose in a weird way we owe that guy a debt of thanks for getting us to finally move on and find our first house.
